After Hours Maintenance

Maintenance emergencies can happen at any time of any day. We always have a member of our maintenance team on call after hours and over the weekend just in case an emergency should arise. The following list of maintenance issues merits a member of the maintenance team to attend to immediately:

1) Any water leak or drainage issue that could result in damage to the unit and/or adjoining units.

2) You have no running water or no hot water.

3) Your refrigerator doesn't cool or freeze.

4) There is no power in the unit, 1/2 power in the unit or any electrical problem that could result in fire. Prior to calling, please check your breaker box and contact Duke Energy to make sure there isn't a power outage in the area.

5) If the apartment has only one commode and it is stopped up, then it is an emergency. If the water is overflowing, please turn the water off at the bale. If the apartment has two bathrooms and only one commode is stopped up, then it is not an emergency.

6) You have a loss of A/C in the summer and the temperature outside is above 80 degrees. Should your air conditioner blow hot air, please turn off system immediately. This will enable our service person to repair the unit much more quickly.

7) You have a loss of heat in the winter. If you are not getting any hot air, switch it to emergency heat and call us the next day during business hours for service. If emergency heat isn't working either, and it is below 50 degrees outside, then a maintenance team member will come out.

8) You are locked out of your apartment. There is a $25.00 lock out fee that is due at the time service is rendered. Only residents on the lease as lease holders will be allowed to enter. Identification is required. No cash will be accepted

If the police or fire department is needed, please contact them first before calling the answering service.

Thank you!

Easter Sunday

The leasing office will be closed Sunday, April 24th. If you have a maintenance emergency please call the office and follow the prompts for maintenance. The number is 919-967-0955.

Severe Weather/Power Outage

Spring and summer brings about several severe thunderstorms, which can often lead to tornadoes. Tornadoes can sometimes occur without warning and cause large amounts of damage. At their worst, tornadoes can attain speeds of more than 300 mph. According to the National Weather Service, people who reside in apartments should have a storm plan laid out.

Tornado Safety: Best Location in an Apartment
Tornadoes are very quick and usually come without much notice, having your plan in place will protect you and the items in your apartment. First and foremost, once you hear that there is a possible tornado near your apartment, or that the conditions are right for a tornado, move to shelter immediately.

Avoid all windows and proceed directly to a small center room such as a bathroom or closet or an interior hallway on the lowest floor of the building. Face down and cover your head with your hands while crouching as close to the floor as possible. Cover yourself with thick padding, such as blankets and pillows, for protection from falling debris.  Wearing a bicycle or similar helmet will help protect your head from injuries caused by flying debris.
  • Please visit here for local emergency information.
In the event of a power outage:
  • Contact Duke Energy at: 1-800-POWERON (1-800-769-3766) to report a loss of power.
  • Click here to view Duke Power outtage maps.
For Police, Fire, or EMS dial 911.

If you need to report any maintenance needs please call 919-967-0955 and leave a message.  A member of the service team will return your call.  Please note our team will be happy to assist you when we are able to safely do so.

Here's an interesting recipe...

Taffy Apple Pizza
Taffy Apple Pizza
(So I love pizza and I have a crazy sweet tooth, which is why this probably looks good to me. However, I don't like to bake...so if anybody makes this and wants to bring a piece to the clubhouse, I'd be ok with that)

Ingredients:
1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 medium granny smith apples
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
1/2 cup peanuts, chopped

Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350°F. Shape cookie dough into a ball and place in center of round cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Using lightly floured dough roller, roll out dough to a 14-inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick. Bake 16-18 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes. Carefully loosen cookie from cookie sheet; cool completely.

2) Combine cream cheese, brown sugar, peanut butter and vanilla in small mixing bowl; mix well. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over cookie.

3) Peel, core and slice apples using apple slicer/corer. Cut apple slices in half and arrange evenly over cream cheese mixture.

4) Microwave ice cream topping on HIGH 30-45 seconds or until warm; drizzle evenly over apples. Sprinkle chopped peanuts over apples. Cut into wedges.

Tips:
1) Dip apples in lemon-lime flavored carbonated soda or lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.

2) Add a touch of spice to this dessert pizza by sprinkling ground cinnamon over the apple slices in Step 3.

New Pool Fence

We recently had a new fence installed around the pool area. You no longer need a code to get in. To unlock the new gates all you need to do is pull up on the round knob located on the far left or far right (depending on the entrance) side of the gate.
